初一段英文书写比赛：

时间：10.8-10.17期间，班级为单位统一比赛时间。

地点：各班教室

用时：15分钟

比赛形式：抄写统一内容。每位学生分发1张书写纸，学生用铅笔书写，名字班级由班级统一规定书写。每班选5名书写优秀学生将名单上报叶亚婷处（上报时间：下周三10.17截止）。

展示形式：获奖学生抄录规定的文章在学校展示。（文章内容另定。）

The Power of Wind

    People can use wind to do work for them. Children use wind to fly kites. Sailors use wind to sail their boats. Some places use windmills to make energy. Wind energy is clean and does not pollute the air, water, or land.

But sometimes the wind isn’t so helpful. Strong winds, for example, blizzards, hurricanes or tornadoes, can damage trees, houses, cars, and boats. They are very powerful and often come with snowstorms, or a lot of rain. They are very dangerous. So watch out for strong winds!
